Digital print with silkscreen glaze

Home / glossary / Digital print with silkscreen glaze

Print process in which a sophisticated inkjet printer is used to print an image, using fine-grained pigment inks (rather than dye). Piezoelectric technology forces ink through microscopic holes. The ink droplets are then electrostatically steered onto the surface of the paper. The result is a high-quality, high-definition archival print.

A varnish is then applied into the surface of the print using the screenprinting technique. This protects and enhances the pigments.
