POA

Bye Bye Brazil is a series of eight digital inkjet prints named after Carlos Diegues’ film from the 1970s, which portrayed a key moment in the modernisation of contemporary Brazil. Morris similarly attempts to capture the atmosphere of the country on the verge of another era of dramatic change in her film, Rio (2012), which portrayed iconic modernist buildings, such as the football stadiums, hospitals, factories and favelas, that make up the city. Morris uses the lines of Rio’s architecture as inspiration for these abstract compositions and vibrant colours.
