A Map of Where You Can’t See the Stars is a continuation of Marc Quinn’s Iris series of prints, which Manifold Editions first worked with the artist to produce in 2012. Here Quinn is commenting not simply on globalisation, but the extent to which light pollution from cities increasingly obscures our view of the night sky. The diamond dust over the dark areas of the map, showing up as tiny points of light, remind us of the immensity of what lies above.
