Tenby, Wales, 2018

One of two colour pigment prints published by Phaidon alongside a monograph for the artist’s major solo exhibition, Only Human, at the National Portrait Gallery, London, in 2019. Tenby is a harbour town and resort in Wales, UK, where Parr has a holiday home, so this is a special place for him. Parr also loves the beach – over the course of the photographer’s career no subject has occupied him more comprehensively, or more consistently, than the countless small things that make Britain what it is. Each print is presented in a bespoke box containing both the print and Parr’s Only Human catalogue, which are signed and numbered by the artist.
