Christopher Le Brun PPRA (b. 1951) studied at the Slade School of Fine Art in London, UK, from 1970–74 and at Chelsea School of Art from 1974–75. Following many exhibitions through the 1980s he was elected to London’s Royal Academy in 1996. His former intricate etchings of rural subjects have given way to a new interest in colour and abstraction. From 2011–19 Le Brun was President of the Royal Academy of Arts, London, representing British art and artists to a world audience. His work is included in notable collections including the Tate collection, London, MoMA, New York, and Yale Center for British Art, CT, USA. In 2019 he had his first exhibition in China at the Lisson Gallery, Shanghai.
