Babe, Kiss, Luv & Boss is Manifold Editions’ new release by Harland Miller: a series of four etchings inspired by the artist’s Letter Paintings on paper, created through multiple layers of colour etching and hand-finishing by the print studio.

Miller’s Letter Paintings formed the basis of his most recent museum exhibitions at York Art Gallery (2025) and the Design Museum, London (2025-26). Miller builds new layers of meaning in these works, deconstructing words by arranging their constituent letters into pictorial forms, thus demonstrating the powerful aesthetic and interpretive potential of short words.

Miller says, “These are easily the hardest prints I’ve ever made, if that’s not too much of a contradiction… The paintings they’re made from are very loose and we’ve had to work very hard to capture that feeling – but when I look at them, as I am doing now as I write this, there is no sense of the thousand-and-one proofs we have made to get here. I have never made a painting of the word ‘JOY’, I don’t know why – it would be a good one – but these are full of it.”
